As an instructional designer officer, Saeyoung is currently working as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Instructional Designer for LIM College in NYC where she is creating online curriculum for their graduate fashion marketing program. Prior to LIM, Saeyoung was Logistics Officer for the School of Media, Culture & Design at Woodbury University. At Woodbury, Saeyoung planned many events and projects including the STEAM Carnival, the MCD Open House, the Burbank Philharmonic’s Fashion meets the Phil project, the Annual Fashion Design runway and MCD Showcase Events.
Saeyoung Vu is a member of the advisory board for the Arts Technology Academy at Gahr High School in Cerritos, CA. Since becoming a member two years ago, Saeyoung has hosted numerous sewing and pattern making workshops and participated in their portfolio review days. She has created MCD scholarship program awarded to outstanding students in animation, graphic design and fashion design programs. Saeyoung Vu has been a fashion instructor since 2010, teaching all levels of creative fashion design, fashion theory, the business of fashion and digital fashion design courses. Saeyoung Vu is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree from the California State University, Fullerton and expected compelete the program in Apirl, 2016. With a BFA degree in textile and photography from the University of Michigan and a Fashion Design degree from FIDM, Vu's company quickly grew to 5 national retail locations; New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and Washington D.C. and sold through 35 international retailers. The company gained recognition in the bridal industry and Vu was named the best new designer in 2006 by The Knot.com. In addition, Vu's gowns were worn by many celebrities such as Brittney Spears, Lucy Liu, Felicity Huffman and Christina Ricci.
